FOMC and Unemployment Act Australia: Impact Wednesday

Two high-impact publications will be presented this Wednesday. On the one hand, the United States will present the minutes of the FOMC, while in Australia, the changes in the unemployment rate will be presented. The announcements will be at 3pm and 10pm Argentina, respectively.

 

The Fed is expected to provide more information in its minutes about current monetary policy decisions. It will be analyzed that it will be confirmed that more officials of the entity will be leaning to reduce the asset purchase plan.

The market is likely to obtain more information on the dates of a tapering start and on changes in interest rates. They currently remain at 0.25%.

According to Reuters, E. Rosengren, chairman of the Boston Federal Reserve, said that, as long as the positive results of the labor market continue, the agency could begin to reduce the monthly rate of asset purchases.

In the evening, the Australian unemployment rate data will be presented. They are expected to remain close to 5%. Previous data showed that in June the unemployment rate fell from 5.1% to 4.9%. Regarding the forecasts of the change in people employed, the indicator is expected to fall to -40K.

In Australia, certain containment restrictions due to covid outbreaks had to be carried out, therefore a scenario of not so optimal results is projected.
